Reimagining political brand engagement

The app that doesn't just reach voters — it bonds them.

Die Welle is a free smartphone app that wraps a classic sliding puzzle into a parliamentary frame. Puzzle by puzzle, the user works their way to a majority. Fully customisable, multilingual, regionally targetable — and licensed exclusively per country.

Concept

How it works in 30 seconds

Sliding puzzle as the vehicle

An image is split into tiles, one tile is missing. The player swipes the tiles back into place — a game everyone instinctively understands.

Parliamentary frame

Above the puzzle sits a virtual parliament chart. Every solved puzzle earns the player's own party percentage points — at the rivals' expense. Success becomes visible.

Win in two modes

In the Absolute Majority mode, your party climbs above 51 %. In the 5 % Threshold mode, every rival party is pushed out of parliament one by one until your party holds 100 %.

Capabilities

What the app does today

Two modes, three difficulty levels

3×3 for first-time voters, 4×4 for classic voters, 5×5 for experts. Three round lengths — from a quick break-time round to a full election-night session.

Local multiplayer

Multiple devices connect over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, no internet needed. Live progress of every player on every screen — first to reach the goal wins.

Multilingual

Currently shipped: German, English, Russian, Turkish. Additional languages can be added at any time — internationally scalable without redevelopment.

Region-aware

The system serves region-specific content — top candidates, election dates, local messaging. Either by location or manual selection.

Offline & data-light

No login, no signup, no tracking, no ads. Runs fully offline. Whoever installs it owns it — nobody else needs to know.

Fully customisable

Logos, colours, puzzle artwork, background music, intro screens, copy, imprint, store listing — everything is replaceable. Per country, per region, per campaign.

Impact on the user

Why an app outperforms a billboard

Active brand bonding instead of passive consumption

Classic ads are seen — an app is played. Users repeatedly experience their party as acting, succeeding, rising. That self-effected experience builds an emotional bond banners and TV spots can't reach.

Music as an emotional amplifier

The party's music plays throughout. Positive game experiences become acoustically linked to the brand — an association that strengthens with every session. Audio is replaceable at any time.

Intro screens as live campaign

Every app launch shows current campaign messages — election dates, candidates, regional notes. Content can be updated on short notice, especially in the weeks before a vote.

Visual repetition of motifs

The puzzle motifs are party imagery — logos, posters, candidate photos. Reassembling a picture means studying it for minutes. A form of attention no banner ad can buy.

Low barrier as a multiplier

Free, no signup, immediately playable. The threshold to install is minimal. Entertainment value drives session lengths far above what classic party apps achieve.

Viral spread

Local multiplayer turns every session into a campaign — anyone who wants to join must install. A planned online high-score list extends the effect.

Licensing model

One party per country. Full rights. Full control.

Die Welle is licensed to exactly one party per country. On contract signing, the rights to that country version pass entirely to the buyer — the version is no longer offered in that country and is unavailable to any competitor.

02

Agree on the branding

Logos, motifs, music, intro screens, copy, election dates, colours, languages, regional segmentation — all defined together with the party.

03

Launch & rights transfer

The finished version ships in Google Play and the Apple App Store under the party's account. Source code, brand rights and distribution rights for the country belong fully to the buyer.

Investment range

Investment range per country

The figures below are a non-binding range that suits most projects as a basis for decision-making. A binding individual quote is provided on request.

Set-up cost

from 33,900 €

Including full rights transfer, customisation to the party, alignment phase and store-launch support. Final amount depends on the customisation scope.

Maintenance per month

approx. 430 €

Includes 4 hours of development per month for bugfixing, store compliance, smaller content updates and compatibility with new operating-system versions.

Hourly rates beyond that

185 € / 215 €

185 €/h for development, 215 €/h for advisory and alignment work. Larger extensions are quoted as a fixed price up front.

All figures plus statutory VAT. A phased rollout is possible — for example one country first, additional ones later. Each version is an independent project.

Roadmap

Extensions that can be implemented at any time

  • Online high-score list — uploadable scores, builds community and return rate.
  • In-app purchases — additional motifs, music packs, theme packs as optional add-ons.
  • Push notifications — election dates and campaign moments straight to the lock screen.
  • Additional game modes — daily puzzles, time challenges, campaign events.
  • Finer regional segmentation — constituencies, départements, voivodeships — all representable.
  • User photo gallery — players can use their own photos as puzzle motifs.
  • More languages — added on request.

About the web demo

What the neutral demo shows — and what's freely chosen for your version

Demo access: The demo is password-protected. Credentials are issued on request via info@wienold-it.de — typically within 48 hours.

The demo at neutralewelle.wienold-it.de was deliberately built for a fictional, neutral party with the placeholder name Orange. That name and the colours, motifs, animations and audio shown in the demo have no connection to any existing party, party colour or political content. They serve only to demonstrate the gameplay, mechanics and user interface.

For your country version, the customer chooses every piece of content: party name, party colour and logos, all puzzle motifs, background music and sound effects, intro screens and campaign messages, animations, the labels for the game modes and difficulty levels, and all copy including help, about and imprint.

The demo is built around Germany — virtual Bundestag with left-to-right seating, all 16 federal states as the regional example, four languages (German, English, Russian, Turkish). The app is freely adaptable internationally: any national parliamentary structure, any regional administrative unit (provinces, départements, voivodeships, cantons, counties) and any language combination can be modelled. The app suits any party in any country that wants to deliver political messaging digitally, low-barrier and emotionally bonded.

Notes on the demo

  • The screenshots are from the demo installed as an APK package on an Android mobile device.
  • The demo currently uses 10 puzzle motifs and 6 background music tracks; both are customisable to the client's wishes.
  • The demo is a fully functional web app running in the browser. Its appearance may differ slightly because of the browser's navigation chrome — on the Android/iOS app the app looks exactly like the screenshots shown.
  • On request, the demo can also be installed on the client's own devices, to be extensively tested as a native app on a mobile.
  • The web app does not support multiplayer mode — that mode is only available in the Android/iOS app.
  • The demo app and any client-branded test versions are password-protected to provide controlled access. A finished Android/iOS app of course has no username or password prompt.
